MONDAY MORNING

"It will be said on that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, so that he might save us."  Isaiah 25:9

This week we are:

Celebrating ….

  • Hosting (last Sunday-Friday) a pastoral sabbatical week for a pastor friend who invited some friends (Woodland Chalet, pictured above right) and now a returning Korean Presbyterian Church from Yakima (pictured above left and middle).
  • Susan and I enjoyed two-nights of silent retreat at the Rivendell Retreat center on Bowen Island, Canada.

Working ….

  • The Oakland Church (Pennsylvania) continued sheeting the pavilion roof through last Wednesday. A contractor friend-of-Ingalls Creek is arriving today with his son to complete the roofing project this week.
  • We also welcome a first-time family group in the Woodland Chalet.

Praying ….

  • Please keep Robby and Colton in your prayers as they seek to complete the pavilion sheeting, ice-shielding, and roofing this week. It's a big job!

This week's quotation and question for response:

Quotation:

Tribute to poet, writer, and farmer Wendell Berry who died last week:

"He wasn't only a Kentucky writer, but a writer who appealed to a particular reader:  People tied to a place and concerned about the wellbeing not just of its inhabitants but to the whole place, ecology and economy alike. He refused to distinguish, you see, refused to allow our various and movable constructions between people and places, ideas and consequences, secular and sacred." ~ Aaron Cline Hanbury, Editor (Common Good Magazine)

Question:

Why do you think the integration of faith and life is recognized as essential to a life well lived?

Grace & Peace,

Doug
