During Your Stay

Should this be all about preparing for your stay? What to bring (toiletries), where to look up weather, etc…

Please remove shoes while in the house. Wear slippers, socks or clean street shoes inside. Use caution as wood floor and stairs may be slippery.

As you unload: Unload the car onto the porch first, then remove shoes and take your things inside. Make sure the door is unlocked behind you :)

No pets on the premises.

No smoking or vaping of any kind on the premises.

Thermostat: Set the thermostat in entry hall to desired comfortable temperature.

Fireplace: Thermostat is under the staircase in the living room (not at the fireplace). When the fireplace gets up to temperature, the blower will come on automatically. Turn it down or off at the thermostat under the staircase. The blower will continue until the fireplace box temperature goes down. Please return the fireplace thermostat to off at night and before you leave the cabin.

Septic system: Please put liquid only down the sink drain and no oil or grease down the sink. Kitchen sink does not have a disposal. Do not dispose of any foreign matter in toilets - no feminine products, diapers, wipes, etc. Space out shower and dishwasher usage to not overwhelm the septic system. We are on a sensitive septic system.

Septic alarm: If an alarm sounds outside by the back door push in the red button to silence the alarm. This is not an emergency. Please contact Facilities Manager Rob Leach (509) 312-3158.

Cooking: While cooking on the stovetop, raise the exhaust fan at the back. The fumes and steam from the stove are removed best when using the back burners. The light for the cook island is on the side of the island near the ovens.

Exhaust fans: Please use the exhaust fans in bathrooms when taking showers. In case of power outage you can manually light the stovetop burners with a match. The fireplace works by manual setting. It will give you heat but the blower won’t run. When power resumes, alarm system will beep. Flip down cover, press 1 to turn off, replace cover.

Porch lights: Feel free to turn them on. Please turn them off at night and before departing.

Fans: There is a control knob on each floor. To turn fan on, press in the power switch and hold it in until fan moves at the desired speed. You will hear a beep as the speed increases.

Outdoor grill: Move the grill away from window and roof overhang while using. Turn the propane tank on before use. Brush the grate clean after use with the wire brush in the cabinet under the grill.

Please do not attempt to “fix” anything. Let Ingalls Creek staff know if there is a problem with any of the facilities.
