Pastor Wellness Retreat

Ingalls Creek is offering a pastor wellness retreat for pastors to find revitalization in their life and ministry.

Our Guide: Roy Howard, Leadership Coach and Consultant

Roy W. Howard is an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) with the International Coaching Federation, a certified facilitator with Healthy Congregations, Dean and adjunct faculty member of the Academy of Artful Leadership (AAL) and a certified trainer with the Holy Cow consulting group. Previously Roy served for 32 years as a pastor with congregations in Kentucky, Virginia and Maryland. Roy has a MDiv is from Emory University Candler School of Theology and a DMin from Wesley Theological Seminary. His other interests include photography, reading, hiking, bird-watching and walking long distances on pilgrimage. To learn more about Roy, go here. This Pastor Wellness Retreat will provide you with a respite, an opportunity to step away from the relentless demands of ministry and intensive relationship dynamics. You will participate in activities to refresh spirit, mind, and body by engaging with God’s creation, building relationships, and participating in guided deep dialogue around a shared reading.

Location

Attractively situated at the confluence of two mountain streams 12 miles southeast of Leavenworth, Washington, Ingalls Creek Enrichment Center offers a wonderful, natural, quiet, and peaceful setting removed from the chatter and clutter of everyday life. Schedule

Event check-in begins at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, July 23 with dinner served at 6:00 p.m. The Pastor Wellness Retreat concludes with lunch on Thursday, July 27. Checkout is by 2:00 p.m.

Experience a rhythm of morning and evening prayers, shared meals and Eucharist celebration, regional hiking and outdoor opportunities, rich conversation with colleagues, time for music, personal sharing, stories, and restorative rest.

Preparation

In preparation for the retreat discussions, you will secure and read one text in advance.

You must secure (purchase, borrow) the book, read it prior to the retreat, and be prepared to discuss it at the retreat.

Spouses

Spouses who serve as co-pastors may both come as full participants. Non-pastor spouses may also register to come at the cost of lodging and meals, prioritizing the full participation of the minister participant. They will have full access to the grounds during their stay. The focus of this retreat is on pastoral wellness, and therefore is not designed for other family members, though please consider a family gathering on the site at another time.

Cost

Solo Pastor: $750 – covers 4 nights lodging, all meals and snacks, and program. Lodging options include private or semi-private room, private or semi-private bath, shared room, and dorm room.

Co-Pastors (both spouses): $1250 – inclusions are the same as for the solo pastor.

Non-program participating Spouse: $250 – does not participate in program activities, covers lodging, meals and snacks.
