Your Retreat Leaders:

Eric Verhaeghe has been an avid angler for over 35 years. He brings decades of experience fishing rivers, tying flies, building rods, and introducing others to the sport. Eric will share need-to-know information on bug entomology, lead our two fly tying sessions, provide tips on casting and rod building, and of course help guide on the water!

Doug Waltar serves as Ingalls Creek Executive Director. Doug loves stream fly fishing (as an occasional fisherman) and will enthusiastically cheerlead for all participants. Doug will coordinate this event to help you have a meaningful experience throughout the weekend with all workshops, activities, small group conversations, fellowship, plus share the dream of Ingalls Creek’s growing ministries. As usual, Doug believes he will catch the weekend’s biggest fish!

Along with Eric and Doug, other experienced locals will assist and help guide on the water.

“…if you have never picked up a fly rod before, you will soon find it factually and theologically true that man by nature is a damn mess… [but] My father was very sure about certain matters pertaining to the universe. To him, all good things – trout as well as eternal salvation – come by grace and grace comes by art and art does not come easy.” Author Norman Maclean in A River Runs Through It
