Job Title: Director
Reports to: Board Chair or designee
Supervises: Contractors, clerical staff, program staff, volunteers
Status: Part time, .5 FTE basis, exempt
Salary: Negotiable based on skill and experience, reviewed annually (or after 6 months in the first year)
Business expense: Reasonable pre-approved expenses and mileage will be reimbursed at rate established in contract.
Benefits: 20 hours vacation, 24 hours sick leave, health insurance at 50% of monthly premium not to exceed $200.00/ month.
Job Summary: This position is responsible for successfully implementing and coordinating the programs and annual goals established by the Board of Directors of the Ingalls Creek Enrichment Center. Site development shall be an important aspect of this position. This person shall also develop operational systems, policies, procedures and manage day to day operations. He/she shall assist with long range planning, develop partnerships for usage and fund raising, and assist in budgeting. The job requires the development and implementation of marketing strategies and tools for meeting the program and financial goals of Ingalls Creek.
Note: This job description is written in anticipation of an eventual full time position. The Board recognizes that a part time person, limited to approximately half time, may not be able to fulfill all responsibilities listed and thus the Board shall determine, at least annually, through specific goals, which aspects shall be a priority for the part time person.
Major Job Responsibilities:
Event Hosting
- Schedules and coordinates all facility usage including auxiliary or contracted facilities as needed.
- Drafts, maintains and disseminates policies to guide the use of the facilities. Obtains approval of policies from the board.
- Negotiates fees for clients as needed to develop a client base.
- Insures that the lodge, grounds, or affiliated facility is ready for guests who have contracted for its use.
- Serves as Ingalls Creek Enrichment Center site host during scheduled events or arranges for alternate hosts.
- Insures that the center has all supplies and stock items available for clients to have a successful experience
- Evaluates the experience of each user group through customer surveys on the quality of the services offered by Ingalls Creek. Proposes changes based on customer feedback.
- Works to quickly resolve problems related to users dissatisfied with their experience. Submits corrective action suggestions for shortcomings and discrepancies to supervisor or board in a timely manner. Identifies and recommends long term solutions for deficiencies in operations.
Operations:
- Manages operations to achieve revenue and expense expectations as set by the board.
- Communicates effectively with members, board, interested parties and customers on a regular basis.
- Establishes a realistic time line for priorities in conjunction with board.
- Prepares and presents reports as requested by the board
- Develops and maintains all files and records.
- Attends all board meetings and committee meetings as appropriate.
- Provides input to the treasurer and board regarding facilities operational cost, user fee structure, facility upgrades and maintenance and assists with budgeting for these and other items.
- Assists in recruiting and supervision of volunteers and staff as directed by the board or a committee.
Partnership Development (for financial and ministry success):
- Participates in the development of short range (one year) plans designed to achieve financial and program success.
- Identifies and presents potential partnerships with other organizations in order to achieve the following objectives:
- Effective approaches to capital and operational fund raising activities
- Development of mutually desirable ministries
- Develops a listing of grant organizations potentially most aligned to the goals of Ingalls Creek, and drafts or coordinates the preparation of at least two actual grant applications in the first year of employment.
Marketing:
- Establishes and maintains online resources for mailing / contact lists. Disseminates same to all Board members as requested.
